Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, called EMDR, is an eye movement therapy used to treat mental health problem. It is perhaps the best known of the eye movement therapies and was developed by Dr. Francine Schapiro. EMDR uses eye movements to help identify and treat memories causing emotional or physical distress. Like ART, EMDR does not require detailed disclosure of the problem to obtain positive results. EMDR is an evidence based therapy.
