Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy  (TF-CBT) is a specialized form of CBT designed to target trauma and PTSD symptoms. Treatment usually requires 12 sessions excluding intake sessions. It was designed for children but has been used to treat adults.

What does this mean to you: Children have a specialized treatment to help them heal from overwhelming events. Children exposed to trauma often develop protective thoughts and behaviors that interfere with optimal functioning.
